ARTICHOUSE has more than 30 years of experience in the field of log houses. It was founded by Matti Ikonen. Our own fully computerized log house factory is located in Lapland, where we also get out raw material - the unique polar pine. Our own production line and the use of domestic pines as raw material guarantees strict control of the production process and gives you 100% confidence in your ARTICHOUSE.
As demonstrated by thousand of satisfied and enthusiastic ARTICHOUSE owners worldwide, many years experience in exporting our log houses to different parts of the world makes us a reliable partner. Our log houses are found for instance in Finland, Japan, Germany, France, the Netherlands, USA, Great Britain, Spain, Ireland but also in Turkey, Greece and Russia. Production
Our new factory is located in Lapland 130 km north of the Artic circle in a small town named Sodankylä. ARTICHOUSE has the newest machinery for a fully computerized CAD/CAM based production line. This machinery, which is operated by our experienced specialists, represents the latest and most modern technology in the whole log house business – and is a guarantee for maximum product quality. With this modern production line in Sodankylä we realize your imaginations, dreams and wishes in detail. The guaranteed high level of detail in the pre-manufacture stages results in a short assembly time for our ARTICHOUSES. Later sitting in your ARTICHOUSE made of the green gold of Lapland you can see and feel the high quality in every single detail.
Polar pine
The old Finns knew how to appreciate polar pine. Centuries ago they built the first log houses with polar pine utilising its unique attributes. You can find log houses in Finland today which are hundreds of years old.
For our log houses we use only the highest quality, polar pine . The trees used are between 90 and 120 years old. Because of the extreme atmospheric conditions they grow very slowly, which means the polar pine develops a special red colour, a dense structure and even, symmetrical growth.
More outstanding attributes of the Polar pine used in ARTICHOUSE manufacture are:

do not all live up their promises. Thanks to our decades of experience, we are able to offer three variants which have proven their worth in thousands of applications: The 'High-Tech-', 'Classic-' and 'City'-Corners. Our high precision planing machines are controlled by special CAD/CAM software designed specifically for Artichouse, ensuring outstanding workmanship with exceptionally accurate dimensions for perfect fitting.
Our sophisticated Artichouse 'thermo wall' meets both legal and economic requirements. The user-friendly layered design compromising log outer wall -insulation - timber frame construction - hight quality interior log panelling ensures that you can make real savings in energy and cash while keeping your consience clean, too.
